£10,000 Payout for Exposure to Asbestos Whilst Working at Ford Motor Company.

Mr F. wins £10,000 payout after working for Ford Motor Company from 1958-1964. Mr F worked at the Thames Foundary, Dagenham in the Hot Metal Section where he would replace the asbestos break linings on overhead cranes. He also cut asbestos insulation board (AIB) to size to act as covers for large ladles moving the molten metal.

The medical expert considered Mr F to be suffering from asbestos related pleural thickening with other, smoking related, lung problems.

Potential claimants should be aware that even if you have a smoking related illness this does not prevent you claiming for your asbestos related illness. The important point is to ensure that the medical experts can confirm that at least part of your lung problems are caused by asbestos exposure.
