Mr K wins £25,000.00 payout on a provisional basis after working as a Semi Skilled Engineer at Durham University.

He was exposed to asbestos from stripping asbestos lagging to repair leaking pipes and then dry sweeping the debris.

Mr K was diagnosed with pleural thickening and a 10% disability.  Due to him only being 53, it was recommended that a claim for provisional damages be made.  This means that along with what Mr K has now received, if he does, in later years, develop asbestosis, asbestos related lung cancer or mesothelioma then he will be able to claim again from the defendants for further damages.  There is only a slight chance of this happening, however it does provide further security if the worst was to happen.

Asbestos was widely used in universities, hospitals and schools. To read more please follow the link https://asbestosvictimadvice.com/2010/03/asbestos-in-public-buildings/
